A rarity in Hollywood. A legend in his own time.

S. Korean actress Choi Jin Sil found dead in apparent suicide

SEOUL, South Korea -- A movie star whose enduring popularity earned her the nickname "The Nation's Actress"
was found dead today -- apparently taking her own life a month after the suicide of a fellow actor she was
rumored to have pressured about a loan, police said.

Choi Jin-sil, 39, had been depressed following her divorce in 2004 and worried about how to care for her two
children, friends told the police. Recent rumors linking her to the actor's death -- allegations she strenuously
denied -- also left her distraught, family members said.

The famous actors don't get a respite while living and for some time after their deaths. This actress had some personal sadness and the Internet blogs are arguing pro and con on her death (was she right or wrong, what about her children). Just let her family be and reach out to individuals in stressful times, everyone.

It doesn't help to see photo of her ex-husband, who had struck her in the past, looking all sad either. He best mind the grandmothers on his children's care.

Austria's Haider dies in accident

Austrian far-right politician Joerg Haider has been killed in a road accident, police say. Mr Haider suffered severe head and
chest injuries after his car came off the road in Carinthia, his political base.

Police investigating the crash said he had been driving alone.

The 58-year-old was leader of the Alliance for Austria's Future, and was known for his anti-immigration and anti-EU policies.

The article posted by Yahoo News indicated that Mr. Haider had overtaken another vehicle and lost control of his own. Sad news. Parents, make time to talk with your family members about safe driving practices.

Speed was a factor in Mr. Haider's accident. When I watched the BBC video, the announcer mentions that the driver of the overtaken vehicle was the one to call emergency services.

Austrian right may reunify after Haider death
39 minutes ago
By Alexandra Zawadil

VIENNA (Reuters) - The death of Austria's charismatic rightist politician Joerg Haider makes a reunification of the two far-right parties more likely, but they may struggle to keep rural and middle-class voters.

Haider, 58, was killed in a car accident in his home province of Carinthia early on Saturday, traveling at 142 km (88 miles) per hour -- twice the legal speed limit, state prosecutors said on Sunday.

Mr. Haider's funeral coverage: it is astonishing to read that he had some alcohol in his system at the time of the crash.

Thousands attend Haider funeral
Tens of thousands of mourners have lined the streets of the Austrian city of Klagenfurt for the funeral of the far-right politician, Joerg Haider.

His body was taken in a procession from the provincial parliament to a square in the city, where friends and prominent politicians paid tribute.

Austria's president and chancellor were among the dignitaries who attended a requiem mass in Klagenfurt Cathedral.

Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author Studs Terkel Dead at 96

CHICAGO — Studs Terkel, the ageless master of listening and speaking, a broadcaster, activist and Pulitzer Prize-winning
author whose best-selling oral histories celebrated the common people he liked to call the "non-celebrated," died Friday.
He was 96.

Dan Terkell said his father died at home, and described his death as "peaceful, no agony. This is what he wanted."

"My dad led a long, full, eventful, sometimes tempestuous, but very satisfying life," Terkell said in a statement issued through
his father's colleague and close friend Thom Clark.
