The Earth has a fierce molten core that generates a magnetic field capable of defending our planet against devastating solar winds. The protective field extends thousands of miles into space and its magnetism affects everything from auroras to power grids, the Daily Mail reports. But this field, so important to life on Earth, has weakened by around 15 per cent over the last 200 years.

And this, scientists claim, could be a sign that the Earth's poles are about to flip. ... d=11986759

Climate change is one thing, this would take it to a whole other level. The world has enough issues with climate change, this happening would be devastating to
the world. People have problems when it comes to power failures, not being prepared when it happens. The rule of thumb is be prepared to rely on your own
resources for 7 days, up from the 72 hours they were going by.

The technology is there to rely on solar panels, etc, growing your own food, and so much more. I don't think they will convince many people that this will happen in
their lifetime or the next few hundred years or more.
