Laurier Tiernan Music

Postby L TIERNAN on Wed Feb 25, 2009 8:03 pm

Hi Cats,

'tis I, Laurier Tiernan. You may know me from such forums as JT and F***ed Gaijin. ;) Thanks to a member here for inviting me to this forum.

A few months ago I started a documentary (filmed in weekly installments) chronicling the process by which I am getting a $7,000,000 recording contract. Last week it made me the #50th most viewed musician in Japan on youtube, and I am aiming at #1. THUS, if you would be so kind as to watch an episode or two, and/or spread the word, I would be your best friend forever. Well, maybe not your BEST friend, but a good friend. :D http://www.youtube.com/sevenmilliondollars

Thanks for reading, and/or watching.

Best,

Laurier Tiernan

Welcome, L Tiernan! While you make progress on your musical path, I have a couple of questions for you:

1) Have you tried to get clothing endorsement/modelling gigs to put the word out about your music? Take a page from the Japanese and South Korean performers on that income stream (of course, their management companies line those deals up but you may know which companies you'd want to be in ads for). Food commercials and store events can help too.

2) Collaboration-yes, the offers flow faster when you have your name known by everyone in the industry. Maybe a song written with/song with rappers or other musicians in your genre? Crossing-genres is another audience building idea. Some musicians adopt a different name when trying out something very different from the music they are known for. Say, you could be Level T hanging out with Zeebra and Milliyah!

I did watch two episodes of your journey on that Internet television station, Youtube. Thank you for the Hachiko spot in your Shibuya episode! He was a bit character in an anime series I enjoyed. :D

First thought at sighting the $7m amount was "someone won the lottery!" We even have a thread on lottery stories here--some winners know how to share their good fortune with others.

Here's to your own success story (raising cup of tea in toast), L Tiernan! Welcome to the forum.

Hi CielOnTap,

Thanks for the suggestions. I was actually scoping those out and will now pursue them more aggressively. Thanks for watching and I'm glad to please with Hachiko. If you want to see anything else, feel free to email me requests. :)

Pysanky, one day you too can dream big and jot your steps down, then sleep easily knowing what you will do on the next day. Some people like certain clothing items to be worn, words recited or food eaten before going ahead with something. Whatever helps you to get going!

An important show or meeting generates the nervous/butterflies in stomach effect or "let's get the show on the road" adrenaline rush.

.
I would have posted a welcome message earlier for our new rich member, but I had to write up an ammendment to our Speak-Ez tax code to add our economic stimulus plan for millionaires.

So here it is:

Instead of deducting 99% of your income, we have graciously decided we'll only deduct 98%. That's pretty generous of us, wouldn't you say? Of course you would. Yep, I'm a really nice guy.

By the way, we accept cash payments only.

Oh yes, welcome to the best tax haven of all tax havens.

And we will write up an official Speak-Ez Community document, with all the proper stamps and signatures, so you won't have to pay taxes anywhere else.

.
The Eyes Have It.
