Burqa wearer risks 500-euro fine
Woman stopped by police under new local 'burqa ban' law

03 May, 17:37

(ANSA) - Novara, May 3 - A woman visiting a post office in the northwest city of Novara could receive a 500-euro-fine for wearing a burqa after she was stopped by police under new local rules. The foreign-born woman was swiftly identified by police but she is still eligible for a penalty under a city ordinance that took effect in January. The new regulation prohibits any clothing that prevents the immediate identification of the wearer inside public buildings, schools and hospitals. The city police said the woman was stopped during a series of spot checks.

"The ordinance is being applied in the instant case because the woman was inside the post office at the time, which is a public building," said police chief Paolo Cortese.

The maximum fine for violating the ordinance is 500 euros but Cortese said his office was still assessing the circumstances of the incident and an appropriate penalty.

The ordinance was introduced by Mayor Massimo Giordano, a member of the populist Northern League party that favours tougher immigration controls. It was issued under a 1975 national anti-terrorism law, which forbids any mask or clothing that makes it impossible to identify the wearer. http://www.ansa.it/web/notizie/rubriche/english/2010/05/03/visualizza_new.html_1788402086.html

I do not know, but if you want to cover your face, or be like one with a mask, there is no way one can recognize or possibly describe you AND all the indoor to outdoor cameras possibly catching the masked person is so important to the Police of that area & YES many citizens have recognized the unmasked person that made a store robbery though what they see on the TV & question by the RCMP.

So in my mind the law is the law & if you like the town or city or land then you go by the laws, even when changed, if if not to your liking then you find some other place. Sorry but that is my belief & my feeling. I say this in the fact that my face is not covered or with a mask on it & I am overly-strong on the present laws in Canada to yes as much as I did NOT like Bill C-68 regarding f/arms but accepted it & even though some 15 yrs old I am STILL telling members they MUST have a Possession & Acquisition License to an Allowance to Transport your guns to the range to also pointing out without the ATT let alone the valid PAL you cannot shoot on our range for our compulsory insurance is THAT strict to also our insurance one is covered if even falling down a set of stairs or twisting an ankle where some of the Club members will be helping some others such a fly fishermen even out of our range.

True some of them hate my guts when I point this out to them, but once they have the PAL to the ATT they soon become fully in agreement with it & KNOW that every year or every 2 yrs they will have to renew the ATT while every 5 yrs one has to renew the PAL.

Some on other parts of Canada to even my area simply ignore the ATT t o even the PAL & after a while the RCMP have the right to confinscate their f/arms for life & have them destroyed. So you HAVE TO LEARN TO LIVE IN THE COUNTRY even if you do NOT like the rukes & regulations.

Premier plans showdown with Speaker's group
Berlusconi wants to see if rebel MPs still support government
06 August, 19:06

(ANSA) - Rome, August 6 - Premier Silvio Berlusconi plans to force a group of breakaway MPs from his People of Freedom (PdL) party to show if they still support his government when parliament reconvenes in September, and resign if they don't, PdL House Whip Fabrizio Cicchitto said on Friday.

The government is "sailing without a compass" following Berlusconi's break last week with PdL co-founder, House Speaker Gianfranco Fini, Interior Minister Roberto Maroni said earlier this week.

Fini and his 43 supporters have formed their own 'Future and Freedom' (FLI) groups in the House and Senate and abstained in a key no confidence vote against a government member this week, saving Berlusconi but proving they now have the power to topple him. http://ansa.it/web/notizie/rubriche/english/2010/08/06/visualizza_new.html_1878912884.html

Don't give staff too many ideas about how to cut corners on work, especially on the last day. The postal worker was still under regulations (applicable laws for his job) on his work day. Is there any politician willing to make a platform that encourages pride and delivery of service in public positions?

Rome postman fails to deliver
Police retrieve letters and snatch their man
12 August, 15:45

(ANSA) - Rome, August 12 - A Rome postman who ditched all the mail he was told to deliver on his last day of work before his vacation may not be able to get away after all, officials said on Friday.

Police were alerted by a number of phone calls from passers-by who noticed the mailman toss all the mail into a large trash can near Rome's Fiumicino airport. http://ansa.it/web/notizie/rubriche/english/2010/08/12/visualizza_new.html_1880665620.html

Think of all of the cheques or important documents that could have been in jeopardy. Hopefully, none of the mail was contaminated or destroyed by food or drink spills.

Teach postman lesson: instruct delivery person on that man's street to drop his mail into puddles or wet grass for 1 week. Enough soggy or dirty mail to get message: treat others as you want treatment.
Happy New Year-2015 now on scene.

France has some major issues right now but Italy isn't far behind. Their biggest problem is garbage and for the tourists it's finding a mask
to cover the stench. It's so nasty in Naples that the EU is telling them to clean up their act. You know your in trouble when the rats are the
size of raccoons and the raccoons are the size of a pony.
