Is there a new North Korean rocket in the military's armament?
http://koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2012/02/120_105763.html
According to the source, North Korea recently completed upgrading the previous model of its 240-millimeter rocket launchers, and named them 'Juche 100 Guns,' after the North's primary ideology of self-reliance.

"Juche" is a key word used in the country's communications, though it is concept more than reality.

Some military experts do not believe the reports of doubled range on any new rockets in North Korea:
senior rocket expert at the Defense Acquisition and Program Administration (DAPA) said the media reports were baseless unless the North has successfully developed a propulsion system that is a quantum leap ahead of advanced countries, including the United States and Russia.

“I’m highly skeptical that the North has technology that even the United States has yet to develop and the world has yet to witness,” he said.

“The range of the South’s 227-millimeter multiple launch rocket system is limited to 45 to 46 kilometers, despite the fact that it has employed the advanced technology of the United States.”

Thing is North Korea is so MILITANT & run almost like the German people were when Hitler was in charge.

A few TVs are done when some officials are allowed into North Korea & the militant ways stand out.

North Korea will AGAIN be asking the USA for FOOD, fertilizer & such. After all even in North Korea anyone with a swine, goat or such MUST turn the animals droppings in FOR fertilizer or be fined.

All eyes this week are on North Korea, which looks set to move forward with a provocative long-range missile launch. Last month, Pyongyang announced it would launch a rocket carrying a satellite sometime between Thursday and April 16 to mark the 100th anniversary of its founder, Kim Il Sung.

Japan, the United States and South Korea see the launch -- which would violate U.N. Security Council resolutions -- as a cover for a long-range ballistic missile test. And a South Korean intelligence report says it's likely to precede a nuclear test, as it did in 2006 and 2009.

New fake leader, new round of propaganda. The same old song and dance from a leader desperate for the world to think of him as legitimate. Once again the world goes into overdrive and giving them what N.K. leaders want, ATTENTION. The world focuses on them, they turn around and convince the population that the world really does think they are important, just look at all the attention we get. He just leaves out the important details like the daily threats from the government.

The current leader needs to try living outside of the capital city without media, television or rich food. How about a starving village? He will find that hard labour is needed to make the fields grow crops-crops he needs to help grow. Food does not just come in feeding program bags that are kept in the capital.

North Korea is SUPER COMMUNIST of their leader's way of thinking. Look at when a crew of Americans along with some camera people might visit North Korea, for then the extreme is showen time & time again.

In Pyongyang, there was no word about a launch, and state television was broadcasting video for popular folk tunes. North Korean officials said they would make an announcement about the launch "soon."

North Korea had earlier announced it would send a three-stage rocket mounted with a satellite as part of celebrations honoring national founder Kim Il Sung, whose 100th birthday is being celebrated Sunday.

Is anyone really surprised that it failed? Now everyone can step back and relax, it may be years before they try this again.

As for the announcement, their propaganda machine will be in overdrive to talk their way out of the hole they put themselves in.

In other news, reporters on media buses got an accidental view of a street in the capital city that was less than pristine. The cameras were put to use right away to record the "other Pyongyang". http://www.gettyimages.ca/detail/news-photo/north-koreans-wait-for-a-bus-in-pyongyang-on-april-11-2012-news-photo/142660493?Language=en-US

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/12/north-korea-journalist-tour-wrong-turn_n_1420403.html There's a video showing the journalists on a train going through the countryside, a rare chance to see life outside of the capital.

guitarblues, on a m/c board more interested in world-wide things. I Noted that Kim only spent 75 Days of the University in Bern with amazing low marks, to just 105 days the next year with just 4 in Math.

This is the Communist leader of North Korea??????

North Korea has ramped up work at its nuclear test site, according to an analysis of satellite images released a day after a senior US envoy warned the North that an atomic test would unify the world in seeking swift, tough punishment.

Glyn Davies' comments after meetings Monday in Seoul with his South Korean and Japanese counterparts reflect widespread worry that North Korea may follow a failed April 13 long-range rocket test with its third nuclear test. Both of its previous nuclear tests, in 2006 and 2009, followed rocket launches.

This is what they are wasting their money on when there are reports that says people are dying from starvation and Government rations are not enough to survive on. Keep them weak and they can't stage a revolt against the so called leader.

For Smitty-the North Korean leader is one of three sons. Eldest son has a gambling habit-Macao is a favorite place. There is another son that is rather thin and was looked down upon by his father. The youngest son was the last option for successor unless a sister or in-law was seen as probable leader.

There was an item in the Internet news about deaths in North Korea-southern areas, that had no corn except 1kg emergency rations. All the corn harvest had been taken for military or Pyongang resident use. The areas are direly in need of help-soldiers supposedly have been put into fields to farm.
