Hi

Just went I thought things could not hit a new low in the US. Trump is facing a child rape charge dating back to 1994. He faces a Status Conference in December. Those lewd words on the Access Hollywood bus will come back to haunt him, and any others that come out between now and then.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 52976.html

A federal judge has ordered a status conference hearing after a woman filed a lawsuit claiming Donald Trump raped her when she was 13-years-old in 1994.

In the lawsuit a witness, identified by the pseudonym Tiffany Doe, alleges she saw Mr Trump and billionaire-paedophile Jeffrey Epstein repeatedly rape the plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe.

A new low even for Trump. A charity event to raise funds for impoverished kids and he manages to think he is at a rally and gets booed many times for crossing the line. Felt sorry for the man in the middle, the Cardinal described it best.

Trump and Clinton sat one seat apart for the evening, with New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan acting as the only buffer. And when they entered and took their seats, they did not greet each other or make eye contact, though they did shake hands at the conclusion of the roast.

Dolan later called his seat "the iciest place on the planet."

That Rep. so-called candidate is always reaching new lows. In addition to what you good folks have posted, he also said in that last debate (although I didn't actually watch) ----- he will keep folks "in suspense" as to whether he'll accept election results - should he not win, of course.

How ANYONE can justify or even rationalize supporting "him" I just can't fathom.

WIth Trumps words the US is being called a Banana Republic. They lecture 3rd world countries on democracy in their elections and here is a candidate saying the opposite. I am still shaking my head with news that came out today at one of Trumps rallies. There is a Canadian show called Power and Politics on CBC. The reporter was covering his rallies and asked people why they are voting for him. Seems some have South Park (tv show) on the mind because they are blaming Canada by saying we are voting for Trump because Canada has a muslim PM who is friends with Obama. When the reporter asked about that, they told her to google it and will see that he is. Clearly his supporters had not, and as most of the world knows he is a white French Canadian, not muslim.

Where on earth did they get that one from is beyond me. There are 11 muslims in the Canadian government, 10 with the liberals and 1 Conservative, none are PM. Any google search would show that. I will be glad when this farce is over, can't come soon enough.

It's November and that means the voting will happen soon in the United States of America for the next President of the United States.

November 8 is Election Day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2016

The candidates running for the White House office: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2016#Major_third_parties_and_independents

Meanwhile, comedians and sketch shows have been leveraging political candidates' comments and appearances into comic material.

Very glad that the US Election Day had arrived. Now to wait and see the outcome-did the independent candidates give the two main contenders any competition in certain districts or states?

The New York Times has offered free public access to its site for today. The current live update on voting results:

Wait and see if some famous US personalities will really move out of the country if present indicators are that Mr. Trump is leading in many states.

.

I seem to be seeing on the Internet that Mr. Trump is now the president-elect.

After checking various sites I finally found one news site that allowed people to watch Mr. Trump's speech he gave to his supporters. I mean, you do not need to have any special software installed on your computer to watch the speech. At least, I think that is what I found.

http://abcnews.go.com/

Now that is the ABC landing page, so they will be removing that video from their landing page after whatever time they think is appropraite.

Hi all -

I saw the "result" and I am simply horrified. This concerns me very, very greatly. Here are a couple of articles:

http://www.commondreams.org/news/2016/11/09/here-it-comes-trumps-100-day-plan-make-america-great-again

IMO what these people voted for was making America meaner and nastier. Not to mention more scary because of him holding the power the President will have, and also the way he has scoffed at climate change.

Then there's these from a Guardian columnist which put so many of my feelings into words:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/nov/03/donald-trump-america-fears-jessica-valenti-election-2016

and: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/nov/09/donald-trump-president-jessica-valenti-daughter

I'm just wondering now what hope there is around...
