Hello all -

southernfry - that was certainly an interesting article and image.

Maybe a first thought might be that it is offensive, but I also saw the irony in it ---- "MAGA" but a) when was it great? and b) great for whom?

Reading the article, the installers said their intent was to get folks talking. Well, this might do it.

President Obama welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Hawaii for a Pearl Harbour memorial service. He is the first Japanese leader to visit the memorial.
Abe has said his visit is intended as a show of reconciliation and respect for the war dead, in hopes of never repeating the tragedy of war.

A seven-member rifle team fired three volleys, shattering the silence, before a bugler launched into Taps. The sprinkling rain fell a bit harder as the mournful strains of the melody filled the Honolulu Memorial.

Abe signed the cemetery’s guest book then stopped to lay another wreath at the gravesite of Sen. Daniel K. Inouye.

Trump is becoming the laughing stock of the world. His ego and thin skin and love of twitter are making him out to be a total fool. He can not handle even the smallest slight against him, even when they don't mention his name he goes ballistic on twitter.

Meryl Streep is one of the worlds top actresses, she didn't mention his name, but she was talking about him. What does he do? Doesn't ignore it and let it go by. He brings more attention to her comments by going on twitter and attacking her, then Huge Laurie when he spoke about Trump. Jimmy Fallon was the host and also spoke of Trump.

The man needs to grow up and start acting like an adult, not a child with the why are they mean to me routine and attack them on twitter. He needs to be quiet and learn to laugh at himself, instead he uses twitter and each time makes a bigger fool of himself. He did mock that reporter and was caught on tape. The movements represent how some use to and apparently still mock them in motion.

Though Meryl Streep was being feted with the Cecil B. DeMille Award — the Golden Globes' version of a lifetime achievement prize — it was Trump's "performance" she couldn't stop talking about. Particularly when he seemed to mock a reporter with a disability during a November 2015 speech — something Trump denied doing.

"It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can't get it out of my head, because it wasn't in a movie. It was real life," she told the room full of celebrities, who had fallen silent. "Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose."

Mr Trump, who will be inaugurated in less than two weeks, tweeted on Monday morning: "For the 100th time, I never 'mocked' a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him 'groveling' when he totally changed a 16 year old story that he had written in order to make me look bad. Just more very dishonest media!"

What was caught on tape was not groveling in any way, shape or form. https://youtu.be/9hEQKqFgfAg?t=1

Jared Kushner to be named senior adviser to the president

The 35-year-old businessman-turned-political strategist played a key part in his father-in-law's presidential campaign and his new position is expected to test the limit of federal anti-nepotism rules.
The move comes ahead of a Wednesday news conference in which Trump is expected to detail how he plans to manage his company's potential conflicts-of-interest after he enters the White House.

Kushner is related to the President-elect by marriage, but a 1967 law specifies "son-in-law" as a type of relative covered by the regulations.
Even as the Trump transition is expected to announce how Kushner's appointment won't violate anti-nepotism laws, Kushner, who owns his own real estate development firm, has continued to chase deals that raise questions about conflicts of interest.

Kushner met with a powerful Chinese business magnate in the week after his father-in-law's election as he sought to finalize a deal for the purchase of one of his most prized properties on Fifth Avenue, the New York Times reported, raising ethical questions.

Potential? It is full blown conflict of interest. Breaking the laws before he is even sworn in, says a lot. How many more will he break in the WH?

You’d think that just 11 days before Donald Trump was due to take over the most powerful office in the world he might have a few things on his agenda more important than lashing out at an actor on Twitter. But apparently preparing his cabinet for confirmation or fine-tuning his domestic and foreign policy positions before his inauguration doesn’t take precedence over tweeting a temper tantrum targeting storied actress Meryl Streep.

https://www.thestar.com/opinion/editori ... orial.html

He should not have that much free time on his hands now. He can not handle any criticism, can't laugh at himself and his behavior is far from
someone that is about to take the big chair. How will he deal with the world, when any one not being nice to him sends him to twitter to attack?

The warning comes courtesy of Trump spokesperson Sean Spicer who issued the following statement Friday: “When a company that's in the U.S. moves to a place, whether it's Canada or Mexico, or any other country seeking to put U.S. workers at a disadvantage,” then the incoming administration “is going to do everything he can to deter that.”

We all know he hates NAFTA and knows little about it. We get that, but shouldn't he adress his hipocracy first? His companies, daughters companies, both based in Asia and not a peep that they will move them. He hired foreign workers for his US club because he said he could not find qualified Americans. Just a few short years ago asked for 500 foreign worker US visas and just months ago over a hundred for the Trump winery, again no qualified Americans, they said.

The Twilight Zone Part 2, only problem is it doesn't end after 30 minutes and disappears for another week and another episode. This nightmare just goes on and on.

Question - How can he be sworn in with this hanging over his head?

https://thinkprogress.org/trump-poised- ... .7d9tvxvnc

“Why wouldn’t I stay at his hotel blocks from the White House, so I can tell the new president, ‘I love your new hotel!’” said one diplomat from an Asian nation. “Isn’t it rude to come to his city and say, ‘I am staying at your competitor?’”

The incoming president, in other words, is actively soliciting business from agents of foreign governments. Many of these agents, in turn, said that they will accept the president-elect’s offer to do business because they want to win

Openly doing this and from what they say, breaking the law, so why is he allowed to move forward, but the rest of us would be charged?

Big concert last night for the now new President of the United States, Donald Trump. Inauguration day is today and a weekend of activities continue.

Fashion watchers are examining what the First Lady, Melania Trump, and First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, are wearing at each public appearance.

The First Lady is wearing a light blue coat noted to be similar to the Tiffany & Co. signature gift box colour. The First Lady gave the Obamas a gift box from Tiffany's prior to today's swearing in ceremony.

The above shows the world is watching and the ladies are united world wide against Trump wanting to set the clock back 300 years. Other world leaders would probably be wise
to have heard us loud and clear. We are silent no more and trumps "nasty woman" name for Hillary has become the battle cry basically. If DC is not listening, they will be paying
a high price in 2 years when midterm elections roll around.

While the world sent a message, Trump was running around town saying I had 1.5 million people in the crowd, despite the images showing he was was under any numbers Obama
had 8 years ago. He really can not handle the truth. Calls it false news and they are out to get me. I feel like we are back on school yard playgrounds with that kind of talk.

I am troubled by many things and it's only entering day 3 of his term.

Standing in front of the stars of the fallen agents and carrying on the way he did is disturbing and disrespectful. All along he referred to them as if their were Nazis, then stands there and says he loves them, admires
them and it's all the medias fault. Says he knows all in the room voted for him, was bad enough, but then hits that gutter level by saying I know over 1.5 million were in person at the swearing in, not the lowest attendance
in history. The press lies to make me look bad and so on. He doesn't need help doing that, he is doing a fine job on his own.

The live feed around the world shows he didn't come close to the 250,000 they had tickets for. The womens march in DC alone was well over 500,000 and the live feeds back that up. Then to send the Press Secretary out on
his first day on the job to knowingly lie and attack the media over this is disgraceful.

The live feed and the images are the same. Different years but the buildings and all are all there in the original and on Trumps swearing in. Nothing framed the images show Trump numbers were small and they keep putting the lie out to soothe his ego.

I think this article nails what is Trump and correct that he is a 7 year old in an adults body. He can not let anyone top his numbers. The womens march did, Obamas swearing in 8 years ago did, and his poll numbers on day one were the lowest in history. A 7 year old behaves like Trump when he doesn't get his own way. Lashes out without thinking even when he knows he is spouting a lie.
