An Ontario teen's design in a recent Google Canada competition means the design will appear online, she receives a $10000 scholarship for university and her school receives $10000.

The competition had an invention of anything theme-the student designed an underwater telescope.

Google is celebrating author Lucy Maud Montgomery's birthday (the 141st one) with a doodle today. Many readers of English literature have heard and likely read of Anne of Green Gables and the many sequel books that followed that title?

The clue to this man's fame: see the blood groups on the wall behind him?
He's Karl Landsteiner. This is his 148th birthday. I am not sure that I saw his name in my hematology books...
