Microsoft XP users get a browser fix

Postby guitarblues on Thu May 01, 2014 10:04 pm

Three weeks after ending support for the Windows XP operating system, Microsoft was compelled to provided a browser fix that addresses vulnerabilites. Why did Microsoft act? There are government agencies and bank machines that still run on Windows XP. With agencies publically announcing online to move away from the operating system, Microsoft is salvaging some of its goodwill with remaining users of XP.

One good thing about social media sites-news travels fast and sometimes public pressure can sway an outcome. Not always a good thing in business but goodwill remains an asset with customers and potential customers.
