He won five NBA titles in his time with the Lakers, as well as two Olympic gold medals playing
for the United States. Now fourth on the NBA's all-time scoring list, with 33,643 points, Bryant won two
NBA Finals MVP awards and one NBA regular-season MVP nod in 2008.

The crash comes just one day after LeBron James passed Bryant for third place on the NBA's all-time
scoring list.
Reports are saying 5 in total have died and no clue it the others were his family members or not. He had
4 kids, one just born in 2019. Too early to know all the details yet.

Edit - now coming out on tv news that his 13 year old daughter was killed and police are still trying to identify
the other 3 people.

Now they are confirming 9 dead in the crash. Just when you think it could

More has come out and another family impacted by this tragedy. A brother and sister lost their parents and a sister in the crash. Their sister was a friend and teammate of Kobe's daughter who was also lost in the crash. The offerings of condolences to all seems so small when the impact of this is so huge.

Christina Mauser, an assistant girls basketball coach at a private elementary school in Orange County, has been
identified as one of the passengers who died in a helicopter crash Sunday along with Kobe Bryant. Mauser was an
assistant coach at Harbor Day School in Corona Del Mar, California.

Question that may never be answered is why they were flying in that weather and who thought it would be okay to do so:

CALIFORNIA-- Millions of people never met him, but the sudden death of Kobe Bryant and eight others has left a country in mourning.

The 41-year-old NBA legend died in a helicopter crash under foggy conditions in Calabasas, California. Visibility was so low Sunday morning that Los Angeles police had grounded its helicopters, spokesman Josh Rubenstein said.

The helicopter crashed into a hillside, killing all nine people on board -- including Bryant's 13-year-old daughter, Gianna. The official cause of the crash has not been determined.

As fans around the world grapple with Bryant's death, new clues are emerging about what happened shortly before the crash.
