Grey Cup

I think I have been hearing that the Grey Cup will be held in Vancouver & if I am correct the Vancouver football team won or lost & that was the start of a healthy riot, for look at the riot that was held when the Vancouver hockey team lost in the final against Boston-----another doozer of a riot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having lived in Edmonton when the Edmonto football team started up if I recall correctly it seemed at the end of a game many of the onlookers spent time to tear down the Posts. Is that fad still going on these days????

I did read that the Olympic Cauldron was lit for the Grey Cup weekend. Don't know if the spectator bridge is still available or if spectators can just walk around the sculpture instead.

TSN will begin broadcast coverage at 6:00 p.m. EST. http://www.tsn.ca/ctvnews/default2.aspx?id=381386

Vancouver also hosted the Vanier Cup, the university football championship in which Hamilton's McMaster Marauders won, this weekend. Plenty of football in the city to close out November.

A photo gallery of the Grey Cup Parade that was held yesterday--looks as though Vancouver has rain this weekend! http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Photos+Celebrities+sports+fans+brave+rain+Vancouver+Grey+Parade/5772947/story.html

According to the Weather Network, the rain has stopped so the leaking roof wont be a problem. Now if the Blue Bombers can win, that would make the day even better.

TSN's video feed is live, if you are in Canada and online. Don't know if US football fans can do the same but if you have TSN on your satellite dish, you'll see the "big game" on your television. Commericals are on now, so game time must be coming up.

Deja vu, I had read that the roof was going to be closed for the game. This is the new dome on the former BC Place stadium.

**Hey, there are empty seats. Some ticketholders are holding out for more money or the remaining tickets are too expensive??

Lots of US players on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers! Ooh, they have the indoor pyro effects.

Now the British Columbia Lions are on deck for introductions, after a video claiming that this is "our house, our game."

Those cheerleaders cannot be very warm, unless they had some spiked energy drinks during warmup.

I will ignore the football game as usual. Still wondering who signed up for the new roof contranct is not going out of business or not.

After all the other days this five hundred & six Million dollar roof was leaking AGAIN & if it fails again the contractor will have to make the corrections not only once but several more time & to think they have not even received SNOW yet.

Has me thining of the Winter Olympic Athletic condo cost Vancouver tax payers a fortune to get it completed & there has not been a flood of people buying parts of it.

Nickelback put on a good halftime show at least. My team is losing badly but they certainly rocked the place.

Smitty, apparently it leaked where the solid part of the roof meets the retractable part. Problem solved, at least they hope it is. The next big wind/rain storm will be a good test of the new roof.

This year it's the Calgary Stampeders against the Toronto Argonauts in Toronto. Not a fan of either so wont be watching the game. Both teams finished second, but managed to beat the top teams to gain their spot in the final.

If you are a football fan in Toronto for this week's activities and the biggest game in the CFL, here's a handy link to keep up to date with what is planned or discussed this week:
http://www.100thgreycupfestival.ca/

Calgary's Mayor makes a bet with Toronto's Mayor:

Well, as least this professional sport is getting the talking time this week. Pro hockey has been absent, so fans must need a distraction in the meantime.

Sadly, Psy is not going to part of the half-time show for the match. He'll be performing in December at the NFL match in the same venue, Rogers Centre.
