I like the outline lighting in the Victoria photo. Simple and it looks like icing on a gingerbread house!

Some lighting plans work better than others-there can be too many lights or conflicting displays.

Lights, action! Do cities get a discount on electricity when the displays are on? I'd like to have my lights on all night long but the bill would be up, up, UP.
Twinkling is fine until New Year's Day. Then we're all ready to change back to winter routines and wave the last of the light displays away. Unless we are talking about Niagara Falls here.
Staycation=stay at home and do fun things inexpensively.
