Not a big Mariah Carey song, but I do like this one. Remember to crank up the volume to fully enjoy.

Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You.

After all the recorded music I had to hear in the stores all month and even in November, I love the sounds of Yule log videos. Even saw the one with the owl that Hootsuite hired for their Holiday video. No hooting but some blinking and swivelling. Reminds me of people who try to fight sleep on the buses at night or on long rides.

Modern pop songs and rap songs. I get the meaning of singing familar carols but where are the contemporary ones? Victorian era is like two centuries ago. Sure, there are love themes, new singers singing standard carols but what about what it's like to celebrate Christmas in the 21st century (and even new customs-not everyone does candles, evergreens, gifts. The spiritual things change with ages as well)? Jesus Walks seems to me be an anthem/carol about trying to keep one's head up while struggling with many concerns.

It was the Feast of St. Stephen yesterday so that's the day good King Wenceslas did his winter walk. I like that carol about it.
