Australia is dealing with a large number of dolphins that beached themselves.

Newfoundland, Canada had some dolphins trapped by ice in a bay. In the end, the local fire chief broke ice with an excavator (the Coast Guard had been called but its ship was too big to enter the area and the noise would have alarmed the trapped dolphins.
